Bamelak Tadele

IBET Momentum Fellow at University of Manitoba

Bamelak is currently a Ph.D candidate at the University of Manitoba where he also obtained his B.Sc and M.Sc in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research focus is on designing wireless networks and the associated signal processing algorithms using physically-consistent models.

After high school Bamelak developed a hobby of watching massive open online courses (MOOCs) which led him to pursue research internships during his undergraduate degree. This early experience aided him to complete multiple research projects and write several conference and journal papers during his M.Sc and (ongoing) Ph.D.

Bamelak is currently the treasurer of the IEEE Winnipeg Communication Society and in his spare time he enjoys weight-lifting and playing basketball.
