Jeffrey Opoku

IBET Momentum Fellow at McGill University

Jeffrey Opoku was born in Ghana and came to Canada in 2011. After graduating with a B.Eng-mining at Laurentian University, he worked in the mining industry, supplying Flottec’s flotation reagents to mills across Northern and Southern America.

In 2022, he received his M.Eng degree in Mining and Materials at McGill University. His masters project focused on the investigation of critical coalescence concentration in flotation machines. He is currently pursuing a PhD in mineral processing at McGill University with a specialization in flotation hydrodynamics.

In his spare time, Jeffrey enjoys exploring Quebec and spending time with his friends and family.

Jeffrey’s motivation to always reach new heights is inspired by his mother. He also hopes to help others like himself find their way within Canada.
