Odudu is a Nigerian-Canadian architectural designer, artist, and researcher currently pursuing a PhD in Architecture at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Born and raised in Abuja, Nigeria, he completed his Master of Architecture degree at the University of Manitoba before working in architecture and interior design at Hariri Pontarini Architects and Studio Paolo Ferrari.
His PhD research explores what West African ritual and spatial traditions can teach us about designing for social connection, belonging, and collective wellbeing. Through research and design experiments, it aims to develop a transferable design methodology that identifies spatial and social principles, rather than fixed forms, that architects, artists, institutions, and municipalities can adapt to create places of encounter and shared experience.
He is also the founder of Ikang, an applied research and design studio working across spatial design, installation, and public art in Toronto and Abuja.
